My name is Lorenzo and I am a training, Registered Psychotherapist - Qualifying working as a member of the student clinic. As a student therapist, I am dedicated to supporting individuals and families through their personal challenges while continuing my training and education in the field of therapy. My role involves providing a safe, confidential space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, helping them to gain insight and develop effective coping strategies. Under the supervision of an experienced professional, I apply evidence-based approaches to assist clients in achieving their goals. My work is guided by empathy, respect, and a commitment to fostering positive change in the lives of those I work with.

I have 3 collective years of experience in the mental health field partly from working as a Crisis Responder at the Kids Help Phone, helping young people through difficult moments while using a strengths-based approach to help them find short term coping strategies and setting goals towards building resiliency. Currently I am working in Crisis Intervention and delivering ABA therapy to youth on the autism spectrum, this involves working 1:1 with students to teach them self regulation, life skills, and behavioural coping strategies that are individualized for each person. I am currently completing my Master of Arts (MA) in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Brock University.

The main therapeutic modalities I would focus on include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and using a Person-Centered Approach to help create a safe and empathetic environment where you can explore experiences, emotions, thoughts, and goals. I plan to expand in becoming proficient in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

In my free time, I love to exercise, play soccer, or play/watch/read fantasy related things such as The Stormlight Archive, World of Warcraft, and Arcane.
