Common Client Concerns…
Approximately half of my clients do see me for eating and/or body image concerns.
The majority of my clients have experienced some form of trauma - whether it is “big T trauma” (i.e., a traumatic incident, tragedy and/or act of violence) or “small T trauma” (i.e., bullying, being consistently put down or invalidated, etc.).
Most have a combination of concerns.
A few of my clients have formal diagnoses, but most do not. .
Demographics…
Typically, I treat youth (16 years and older) and adults, of any gender (male, female, non-binary, etc.), any orientation (LGBTQ2S+), and any location within Ontario, Canada.
I do see clients from diverse cultural, racial, religious and ethnic backgrounds. However, I am a cis-gendered white female who has experienced the privileges that come with this. Given this, you may prefer to see a practitioner from a different background if available. If so, and if I can help, feel free to reach out to me for a more appropriate referral to suit your needs.
I will sometimes treat youth 14+, if they are not experiencing a severe eating disorder. Youth 14-16 with an eating disorder MAY be seen if there is ongoing involvement with their paediatrician.
